FAQ

FAQS

Here are answers to some common questions.
  • What do you use and how do you do it?

I use a series of different products and procedures to repair and recreate the damaged area.  It depends on the type of damage, where it is and what the material is that we are repairing as to how we go about the repairs.

  • What areas do you service? Can you come and repair my damage?

We are located in Townsville. We can travel as far as Ayr, Ingham and Charters Towers.

  • Can you send me your products so I can do it myself?

Unfortunately, no.  We do not provide products, we provide a service.

  • How much does it cost?

Cost is very variable.  The size and type of damage, colour, location, and material to be repaired all factor into the cost.  For me to be able to provide you with a quote it is important that I see the actual damage or a high-quality photo of it.

  • Will the repairs that you make last?

We use products of the highest quality and standards available.  Where posable we put an extra protective layer over the repaired area to ensure the quality of our work.  Products used are designed to withstand general/normal wear and tear.

  • How long does it take?

It is variable upon the size of the damage, but anywhere from 1-8 hours.  The average is about 4 hours. Some repairs may require a return visit to do a final finish off due to drying times.

  • Does it smell?

Yes, there will be some smell for a short period of time on most repairs although some products will linger longer than others.  We recommend that small children and pregnant women not be present in the room when we are doing the repair.

  • What surfaces can you Repair?

    Materials we repair are,

Laminate, Timber, Stone, Tile, Enamel and Acrylic.

Some of the products that these materials are used on are,

Kitchen benchtops, vanity tops, bath tubs, showers, laundry’s, desks, floors, panelling, caravans and more.

The list of care requirements is the same as for the care and maintenance of laminate. As such, they should not cause added requirement to maintenance and cleaning of standard laminate surfaces. These are listed below;
NO harsh chemicals to be used.
NO abrasive cleaners to be used (Gumption, Jiff, Ajax, baking soda, scour’s ECT).
NO cutting/working directly on the surface of the benchtop.
NO hot objects to be put directly on the surface.
NO freezing cold objects to be left on the surface for a prolonged period.
NO solvents such as thinners, , turpentine, methylated spirits or eucalyptus oil to be used as these can cause damage to the surface and sealing.

Ideally, the things which should be used, or needed, to clean the repaired surface is clean soapy water or a product such as Windex or spray and wipe equivalence.

GENERIC CARE AND MAINTENANCE OF YOUR SURFACES

Only use cleaners that state they are safe for cleaning of the surface in question. A good rule of thumb to keep in mind is; "if you would not clean your car with it then do not clean your benchtops with it"
