Once a repair has been completed the repaired area is touch dry within 10 to 15 minutes. The repaired area, however, will take 1 hr to fully cure. Curing time may take longer, up to 24 hrs, depending on the weather and conditions. Your Tech will advise if this is the case. Do not clean or use the repaired surface before the area has fully cured.

           GLAZED TILES

For glazed porcelain tiles, use the following instructions for general cleaning:

Sweep or vacuum loose dirt and dust from the floor. An untreated dry dust mop is recommended instead of a broom. Mop the floor with a mild cleaning solution (do not use wax, oil-based, or abrasive cleaners). Rinse the tile thoroughly with clean and clear water. Drying is also recommended – to increase the shine and to prevent water spots

           TEXTURED TILE

A textured porcelain tile surface requires additional cleaning procedures. A standard wet mopping will not effectively clean a textured surface. For cleaning textured surfaces, follow these instructions.

Sweep or vacuum dust and debris from the floor. When sweeping, use a soft-bristle broom and sweep in two directions. First follow the direction of the tile and then sweep diagonally. This will ensure the removal of all foreign material residing in the texture. Saturate the tile with a neutral cleaning solution, such as vinegar diluted with hot water. Allow the cleaning solution to remain on the floor for 5–10 minutes. Scrub the floor with a brush once more using a two-direction method.
Rinse the floor with clean, clear water to remove the cleaning solution.

For high traffic locations, it is recommended to clean the floor at least once per day and wet mop at

•Do not clean porcelain tile flooring with ammonia or with cleaners that contain bleach and/or acid. Acid and ammonia-based cleaners may modify grout colour.

Understanding Laminate Construction

Taking some time to understand how laminate is constructed, can help with the overall care program for your benchtop surfaces

"Laminate," aka, high pressure decorative laminate. All HPDL products are manufactured in a similar way, from layers of paper saturated with melamine and bound together with phenolic resins. Only the second layer is the decorative layer. The top layer is a clear protective coat. This technique has remained largely constant for over half a century, simply because it works so well and even modern technology has not come up with anything better for a hard-wearing, low cost benchtop or splashback.

Damage Size in Laminate Repair

Let us say you have had a shopping cart scratch your door. With some scratches, if they are only superficial they can be buffed out, but if it has gone through the paint the door will need to be re-sprayed.

Damage size categorisation is very relative to one’s own interpretation.

When you say something is small or something is large it all depends on what are you comparing it to, for example a mouse is large in comparison to ant but the mouse is small in comparison to an elephant. Yes, this is an extreme example, we all get the understanding. Even if an item is in a mutual categorisation of small this does not always mean that being small is easy or low cost. Pricing, in itself, is also another subject. Let us use vehicle damage as an example, as majority of people can relate.

et us say you have had a shopping cart scratch your door. With some scratches, if they are only superficial they can be buffed out, but if it has gone through the paint the door will need to be re-sprayed. Both scratches are small in comparison to a fender bender, but there is a huge price difference between the 2 types of scratches. Some scratches may even come closer to the amount of a fender bender which is larger than a scratch.

Part of keeping your laminate benchtops in great condition is knowing what to use and not to use when cleaning those surfaces. The following tips are designed to help.

Do not use abrasive cleaning products (Gumption, Jiff, Ajax, Bicarb etc…) or scouring cloths as they will damage the surface.

Streaky marks sometimes show on dark colours after cleaning. An all-purpose cleaner such as Windex spray cleaner or Spray n Wipe usually removes these streaks.

Laminate surfaces resist staining from most household products. However, prompt action is essential with some accidental spills. Wipe off beetroot, grape and berry juices, first aid preparations, concentrated bleach, oven cleaners, dishwasher detergents, artificial dyes, hair colouring and solvent based pen ink etc, IMMEDIATELY.
